Juvederm is a smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. Young skin contains an abundance of naturally-occurring HA. As we age, time, sunlight, and other factors reduce the amount of HA in our skin. The lack of HA causes our skin to lose structure and volume, creating unwanted facial wrinkles and folds, like those parentheses lines around your nose and mouth.

When Juvederm is added to those lines, the result is a natural looking softening of the lines that may last 6 months to 18 months.

  • Safe, FDA approved, filler
  • May soften lines that make us look angry and tired
  • Lasts up to a year

Juvederm FAQ

How does Juvederm make the lines disappear?

When Juvederm is injected into your skin, hyaluronic acid (HA) is restored, adding volume to smooth away facial wrinkles and folds. This leads to very natural looking and natural feeling results. “Everyone will notice but no one will know”.

Does the Juvederm treatment hurt?

Juvederm is now formulated with lidocaine, a common anesthetic, to provide a more comfortable experience during and after your treatment.3 Depending upon what areas you are having treated and how sensitive they might be, our staff can also offer additional anesthetic options, such as topical lidocaine cream. We will make your experience a comfortable one.

How long does Juvederm last?

Juvederm usually lasts about 6 months to 18 months, depending upon where in the face it is injected. However, it can last up to a year in some clients.

Where can Juvederm be placed?

The FDA approved locations for Juvederm include the naso-labial folds (the lines from the outside of your nose to the corners of your mouth) and the lips. It is also commonly used in areas such as the temples, cheek and jaw line, and the frown lines under the mouth.

What should I do to prepare for my Juvederm treatment?

It is important to discontinue the use of ibuprofen (such as Advil or Motrin) for 72 hours before your appointment. Do not take aspirin for one week before your appointment, unless you are taking it for a medical reason. If you are on blood-thinning medications, let the  staff know before your appointment.
